Soup, yesterday I finally saw Coverfield. Yes, I quite understand that everybody is talking about it, the movie is just another hot topic and so on, and so on. But, despite it, I just wanna say few words.
It was really cool experience. I'm not a big horror junkie and most of such movies I usually turn in on-going prank, but this one happened to be what I expect from frightening picture. Several moments will totally make you shit bricks.
And another thing is that we should really honor J. J. Abrams. Not much people today have guts to do experimental stuff, without concerning about profits. Technically it's "giant monster movie", like Godzilla or King Ghidorah, but the director has changed the perspective (I wonder, will it qualify as spoiler now - don't want to deliver one). I do not only mean the "found footage" technique, but also the scenario scope. Bu I should stop here - or it will really be a spoiler.
P.S: I wanna see flaming homeless!!!
P.P.S: If you heard there big bilingual problem here in Ukraine, so I'm a glad we got the Ukrainian-dubbed screening.
So, my point is, I don't really like screening of books, comics, whatever, any other sorts of media.
When you read a book (comic book as well), you sorta create your own unique vision of it. Moreover those visions are strongly associated with your personal individual perception, impressions on subject.
And when someone decides to screen it, the most annoying effect appears. On one hand you love the setting/idea, whole world created by the book and you are naturally attracted to everything connected with it. But next, you see the screening and your unique individual impression is being distracted by director's ideas how to make a good movie. Moreover, there is now unique visions anymore. Like everybody know that Harry Potter looks like Daniel Radcliffe. Well, Potter is not a bad transfer after all - it stayed pretty close to the book's prototype.
But I can't imagine Tintin in Spielberg's movie, but not just a movie, 3-d animated movie! Tintin was one of the first complex comic series I red and I always had some tender relations with it. But I can't imagine it to be diracted like this. What will it be? My imagination draws some eccentric journalist, drawn in Toy Story-animation style, with his dog, Milou, which looks like white flaked ball. Yes, and there is Peter Jackson mentioned there. I supposed we'll see huge epic scene of spaceship to the moon launch. I don't wanna see that!
Yeah, yeah, I know the trivia: movie corporations, it is all done to make profits, strong attractive characters, some sort of conspiracy and other blethers.
But first of all, this is my second blog. The first one - is on LJ. Actually I will cross post it there, just for test. Perhaps, I will not move to that service - both blogs will stay. But I've decided, that I will write here in English. Eventually, that decision appeared the same with F3, one of my best friends))) But I don't want to finish post just like this. What else can i write.
Few days ago, by chance, I've got a good' old' film - The Wizard of OZ, produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer. Really, it is so nice.... You know these old American movies, they have such outstanding atmosphere... Music, dialogs, scenes & style of 30s is so impressive.... So fuckin' American. I don't know why, but America in my mind is associated with 30s, Judy Garland & MGM.
And what about context? Nothing special, but quite cute. It completely differs from what I've imagined, when I was a child & read that book... But I liked it really. And of course, I was by the beginning:
"Dorothy lived with her uncle & aunt at the farm in Kansas!" It is so fuckin' American!!!
