This clip is... uh, I don't know, really. There was one band called "Фактично Самі" (Factychno Sami - Practically Alone), but this one is performed by band named Qarpa (homophone of the vocalist's surname). So, as I said, I don't really know are those two different projects, or no. And the track is called, as you see, just "Sex".
If you are interested I can provide more info, or course.
If you are living in USA, you probably didn't ever heard about this band. They are from Latvia and rather popular in Europe, especially in eastern part. They play music more likely considered as pop-rock, so all that rabble, who think themselves as hardcore, underground, avant-guard, usually don't treat that band as something worth listening. Frankly speaking, even I listened it only in middle school. And when all that teenager non-conformist protest stuff flooded over,I've completely forgot about the band. I've even had kinda "intellectual" comment for it. Something like: "You know, this band once wasn't very bad, but they weren't developing and improving their music. Brainstorm's last album 'Four Shoes' (2006) exploits all the same vibes, they don't create anything new".
But yesterday suddenly I felt like I want to listen that band and nothing else. It happens very seldom to me, really. So I found some old CDs in my shelf and listened to them for the whole evening. Here is one song I really, really adore. It's from their old album "Online", released in 2001. Pure Brainstorm, as it is and who cares if they are improving or not? I love it - that's what matters!
If you got interested, here is their's homepage - http://www.brainstorm.lv But don't get confused on the Last.FM page - there is some other German metal band, sharing same name. Metal is kinda crap, I think)))))
Concerning popularity of We♥Music post and whole Harry Potter subject at the moment, I thought I definitely should tell about Ukrainian "Wizard Rock". So, here it is. Vasyl Vasyltsiv - Weasley Is Our King. But don't be hurry to make judgments, better not listen it before you read whole story. It had already became real urban legend over Ukrainian Internet community.
Vasyl Vasyltsiv was just a regularly teenager from Lviv. Nobody new knew about him before one day when he brought his track to the radio. That track was called Дякую, Руслано (Dyakuyu, Ruslano or Thank You Ruslana) - Song devoted to the Ukrainian singer Ruslana, when she won The Eurovison Son Contest. It was so pathetic, so unprofessionally made, that nobody could keep their laugh while listening it.
Here, I think, I should tell somethings about him. As I told he was regular teenager.... but with unnatural passion for creating music... without any skills and talents to do that )))) Anyway these circumstances didn't bother Vasyl at all, he was writing about (imagine) 40-50 songs per half-year! Eventually his father appeared to be head of Entrepreneur Association at Lviv region. So with his connections and resources he was some kind of producer and distributor for his son. Before sudden Vasyl's popularity blasted, father was organizing concerts for his son, where students of colleges and specialized schools were forced to be present, as fiction of audience.
Now public excitement concerning Vasyltsiv went down, but anyway I think he really became phenomenon at Ukrainian music stage.
Some people find him stupid and crazy. Others think that it's just awkward, senseless, primitive music, that eventually became popular in cause of some weird flashmob.
But as for me, and dozens of his fans, it just funny an nice. His music is really naive, especially if you understand lyrics. But at the same time, despite awkward, discord musics and vocal, it's so optimistic and energetic, so positive, that makes you love it)) I still have Computer-Internet as mobile ringtone.
You can find more tacks and other info at his Homepage.
